Sian also specialises in drafting wills and codicils, obtaining grants of probate/ letters of administration, administering and distributing testate and intestate estates, preparing inheritance tax forms, Inland Revenue returns and drafting estate accounts. She also creates Lasting Powers of Attorney and prepares Court of Protection applications.
Sian is well respected by her peers, fellow legal professionals, estate agents financial advisors and has a loyal, wide and diverse client base.
She graduated from the University of Wales, Cardiff with a degree in Law and was admitted on the Roll as a solicitor in 1978. She is a fluent Welsh speaker and is responsible for all compliance and organisational matters.
Catrin graduated from University of Wales, Cardiff in 2001 with a degree in Law and French. She trained at one of Europe’s largest law firms and was admitted as a solicitor in 2002, following a year studying law in Rennes University in Brittany, France and a secondment to a French law firm in Paris. She is a fluent French speaker. She is also a fluent Welsh Speaker. Catrin obtained a diploma in Welsh Advocacy when she completed the Legal Practice Course in University of Wales, Cardiff.
She is responsible for the management of the firm and for staff training and supervision and business development. Catrin takes great pride in developing her team and perfecting our procedures to provide the best most efficient service possible for our clients.
Specialising in housing management and tenancy enforcement, Rhodri has a wealth of experience in dealing with claims for possession of property, demotion of tenancy, applications for civil injunctions for anti-social behaviour, injunctions for access or repair works and committal proceedings for breach of an injunction or undertaking. Rhodri can also provide advice in respect of other tenancy related matters including succession of tenancy, issues relating to capacity, disrepair and other breaches of tenancy such as poor condition of property or unauthorised use of property. He also has a great deal of experience in dealing with cases which involve the Equality Act 2010 and human rights challenges.
Rhodri enjoys speaking at conferences and can provide bespoke training in this area of law. He is an experienced advocate and is also a Welsh speaker.
Lynda has developed strong relationships with some of Wales’ leading housing developers and is proud to be the recommended solicitor for many national and local developers. She has a large following of repeat clients who value her caring nature, strong work ethic and meticulous manner of working.
Lynda supports and supervises other conveyancers and legal secretaries in the firm. She has developed excellent systems within the firm to ensure the smooth running of help to buy schemes and to assist her clients in meeting deadlines especially in new build properties.
Lynda has worked in conveyancing since 1986 qualifying as a Legal Executive in 1992 before she was admitted as a solicitor in 1995. She was a partner in one of the largest firms in Wales working with a team of up to 70 members of staff at all levels dealing with all aspects of residential conveyancing and re-mortgage work before joining Sian Thomas and Daughter Solicitors the firm in 2012.
Bev began her career in conveyancing in 2005 in a leading local firm quickly progressing to a conveyancer in a well-respected national firm before joining Sian Thomas and Daughter Solicitors in 2016.
Due to Nia’s dedication and professionalism she is rapidly building up her own client base and is passionate about providing our clients with the best client care possible.
Nia graduated from Swansea University with a degree in Law and French. She passed the Legal Practice Course (LPC) with distinction where she was awarded the coveted LPC prizes for both property and employment. She joined our firm in 2015 as a paralegal in conveyancing and has gained a wide variety of practical experience in all types of residential conveyancing matters to supplement her extensive academic studies. Nia qualified as a solicitor in October 2020.
Nia is also a fluent Welsh speaker.
Stephanie prides herself on delivering excellent standards of client care, giving a professional but friendly service whilst dealing with any issues in a timely and pragmatic manner.
Stephanie graduated from the University of South Wales in July 2016 with a First class integrated Master’s degree in Legal Practice. Stephanie was also awarded the prize of Best Performing Student, having achieved the highest grades in the year.
Stephanie went on to train with a firm in her hometown of Barry, dealing with high volume conveyancing work for one of the largest estate agents in Wales, before qualifying as a Solicitor in March 2019.
Stephanie joined Sian Thomas Daughter and Son Solicitors in June 2021.
